Product description

Improves recovery and protects muscles

What is BCAA?
BCAA is an abbreviation for Branched Chain Amino Acids. It is a special type of amino acids that the horse's body cannot produce itself, but which must be supplied via the horse's feed.
Unlike other amino acids, BCAAs are converted directly into the muscles without having to be broken down first. This allows the body to immediately begin the processes of repairing and building up the muscles.

Recovery and training soreness
When the horse is trained, the entire central nervous system is affected and the levels of BCAA drop in the body. By adding BCAA in connection with training, you can improve the horse's mental focus and reduce the perceived effort. The horse recovers faster, feels more energetic and is ready for the next training session sooner.
Horses, as well as humans, get exercise soreness and can feel stiff or sore in the days after exercise. Research has shown that BCAAs can reduce exercise soreness. This is because the leucine found in BCAA speeds up the muscular recovery by activating the protein build-up.

Build muscles
BCAA acts as a catalyst for muscle building. By raising the blood levels of leucine, the body signals to the muscles that it is time to begin the recovery of the muscles after exercise. The body gets an increased level of leucine either by exercising or by adding BCAAs. Training and BCAAs thus have an effect individually, but they also act together and thus generate an even more effective recovery after training.

Which horses can eat BCAA?
BCAA is given to horses that need help with recovery after training and help with reduced training pain. It can be given as a daily supplement, after harder training sessions or as a regimen during tougher training or competition periods.
